A youth-led initiative to understand lived experience of transports barriers and inform more inclusive, practical transport solutions.
Getting around shouldn’t be this hard.
We’re looking for rangatahi Māori, Pasifika or whaikaha (disabled) aged 16 - 25 to share real stories about transport, and help shape better decisions.

What’s this about? We keep hearing the same thing from rangatahi, whānau and employers: Transport is one of the biggest barriers stopping rangatahi from getting to school, training, mahi and opportunities. We want to: Hear the real-life impacts of transport barriersUnderstand what makes things harder (or easier)Find practical ways to influence decisions and remove barriers.
What you’ll do: Come to three hui between March-May 2026 (a mix of face-to-face and online)Share your experiences and ideasKōrero with other rangatahi, your friends, whānau and communityHelp shape better transport solutions
What you’ll get: $500 payment for your timeKai provided (for in-person hui)Transport support to get therePastoral care and coaching support throughout the project
Taking kōrero back to your community: We’ll give you the tools and support you need to go out and hold kōrero with your friends, whānau and community. Anyone you speak with will receive a $40 voucher as a koha for their time. Keen?
