Jerome Phoenix

Intrapreneur – Strategic Investment

Jerome (Te Roroa, Ngāti Porou) grew up in both west and south Auckland but is a staunch Westie at heart.

He started his career in market research developing a qualitative speciality before working abroad as a corporate strategy consultant in Melbourne, Sydney and Toronto developing a portfolio of work across major international brands. Seeking work that was truer to his purpose brought him home to complete his Master of Business Commercialisation at the University of Auckland. He then took his master’s work that next step further by co-founding a deep tech mental health start up with the Auckland Bioengineering Institute. Being a massive geek, he sees the power of technology as an equalizer to not only help solve problems but empower people to live more fulfilling lives.

Jerome joined TSI after exiting his start up and has been applying his diverse skill set to helping solve wicked social problems, many of which he faced himself in his youth. He’s passionate about developing more efficient, equitable and inclusive business models. Believing that truly grand challenges can only be solved with involvement from private, public and not-for-profit sectors, he seeks to develop buy-in to the problems we face and partnerships for the solutions we develop with non-traditional stakeholders.
